Stage 1: defining the problem
The first stage of this project was done in small groups. We brainstormed different ideas to define the user, our problem, goals and user journey. To understand the user better we created a persona for this project:
Stage 2: ideation
Once we defined the problem, we moved onto the next stage, where we did market research. We noted which features we liked in similar apps and where we saw opportunities for upgrading the user experience with our app.

We individually created sketches for our car wash on-demand app and later reviewed them in our groups where we voted which features we would like to include. Based on our sketches we also determined the final user flow for our app.

Stage 3: design & prototype
The final stage of this project was designing our app and creating a prototype in Figma, which was done individually. Design-wise I wanted the app to be simple and easy to understand, so my approach was very minimalistic. I chose two main colors - white and light blue, which the user can visually associate with cleanliness. The main typography for this project is Poppins, which is a sans-serif font that's simple, friendly and very legible. I also used a lot of icons, to make my UI more visually engaging.

Here is the UI design system:
After I made my first draft of the prototype, the Povio team reviewed it and gave me some feedback for implementations. Based on their recommendation I added the following:

- Adding inactive buttons in the process of signing up and ordering a car wash for a better user flow.
- Changing the color of selected fields from blue to gray (to not have the user confuse the field with a call-to-action button).
- Changing black-and-white photos to colored photos to make the app more lively.
- Removing the cart.

Outcomes
- Clean Slate app offers the user quick and easy way to schedule their car washing appointments.
- Easy payment in advance.
- Easy to find services based on your budget or services that are located near you.
- Option to have your car washed at home (more accessible)
- Helps you save your time and energy. Scheduling your appointment takes just a few seconds and it's really simple to incorporate in your schedule (option to add your appointment to Google Calendar).
Provides appointment tracking.

And that's it! I'm grateful for Povio for giving me an opportunity to be a part of this workshop. It was very insightful to learn the basics of UX/UI by walking through the whole process of approaching a problem, developing the idea and implementing the final result.
